What are the steps to resolve QuickBooks error 12007 ?

  • Make sure that you’re Internet Explorer is configured properly and you have the latest version on your computer.

Step 1- Check your internet explorer settings.

  • Open the Internet Explorer program window.
  • Click on the “Tools” icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Click on “Internet options” from the menu.
  • Now, go to the “Advanced” tab and select “Settings”.
  • Look for the “Use TLS 1.0” check-box and mark it in the settings window.
  • Make sure the “Use TLS 1.1” and “Use TLS 1.2” boxes are not marked.
  • Now, click on “Apply” and then “OK”.
  • Exit the Internet Explorer settings.

Step 2- Update QuickBooks.

  • Go to the Help menu.
  • Click on ‘Update QuickBooks’.
  • Click Options and then select the “Mark All” button.
  • Save and then click on ‘Update Now’.
  • Click Reset Update then click the Get Updates button.
  • Close QuickBooks once the update is complete.
  • Right-click the QuickBooks icon, and then select Run as Administrator.

Step 3- Force stop QuickBooks and reopen it.

  • Open your Task Manager.
  • Click on the Processes tab.
  • Select QuickBooks or Intuit.
  • Click End Task/End Process at the bottom.
  • Reopen QuickBooks afterwards.

Step 4- If the QuickBooks error 12007 occurred during payroll updates/ while updating QuickBooks itself, follow the steps given below-

  • Check your Internet Connection Setup in QuickBooks.
  • Go to the “Help” tab the top of the screen.
  • Now, carefully go through the Internet Connection Setup menu.
  • Make sure that your QuickBooks internet connection is set according to your computer’s internet connection settings.
  • Click Next and then select advanced network settings.
  • Now, go to display the internet properties window.
  • Look for the “Advanced” tab in the internet properties window, and make sure that the “use SSL 2.0” and “use SSL 3.0” check boxes are marked; if not, mark them.
  • If you have made any changes in the internet properties, make sure to save them by clicking on “Apply”.
  • Finally, press “OK” and exit the internet properties window.
  • Close QuickBooks and then perform a fresh restart.
  • Try to update QuickBooks Payroll services now.
  • Restart your computer once the update is complete to make sure the program is running smoothly.
