What should I do to resolve this QuickBooks error 6000 832 ?

Step 1 – Make sure QuickBooks is up to date.

  • It is recommended to install and run the “QuickBooks File Doctor” before performing any other troubleshooting methods to resolve QuickBooks error 6000 832 .

Step 2 – Rename the .ND and .TLG files.

  1.       Open the folder that contains your company file.
  2.       Find the files with the extensions .ND and .TLG.
  3.       Right-click each file and select “Rename”.
  4.       Add the word OLD at the end of each file name.

Step 3 – Open a sample company file.

  1.       Open the “No Company Open” window.
  2.       Select Open a Sample File.
  3.       Choose a file from the list of sample company files.

Step 4 – Copy the QuickBooks file on the Desktop.

  1.       Open the folder that contains your company file.
  2.       Look for a file with the extension .QBW.
  3.       Right-click on the file and then select Copy.
  4.       Go to the Desktop, right-click and select Paste.
  5.       Hold the control key, and open QuickBooks. This will take you to the No Company Open window.
  6.       Click on Open or restore an existing company.
  7.       Go to the desktop and find the company file you copied and open.

Step 5 – Restore a backup.

  1.       Open the company file.
  2.       Go to File and click on Utilities.
  3.       If the “Stop Hosting Multi-User Access” option is available, click on it.
  4.       Click “Yes” when the “Company file must be closed” prompt appears.
  5.       Go to the location of your company file.
  6.       Copy the path from the address bar at the top.
  7.       Try to restore the file.

Step 6 – Make sure “Hosting” is turned off on all workstations.

  1.       Press F2.
  2.       The Product Information window will open now. Carefully go through it.
  3.       Look for “Local Server Information” and then click on it.
  4.       Make sure “Hosting” is turned off.

Step 7 – Terminate all QuickBooks processes.

  1.       Log in as the Administrator on the computer.
  2.       Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
  3.       From the Users Tab, select Show processes for all users.
  4.       Mark all the QuickBooks processes (QBW32.EXE, qbupdate.exe, and QBDBMgr.exe), and then click on “End Task”.
  5.       Use the multi-user mode to open the file now.

Step 8 – Verify the folder permissions.

  1.       Right-click the folder that contains the company file and select Properties.
  2.       On the Security tab, click Advanced.
  3.       Select QBDataServiceUserXX and click Edit.
  4.       Make sure that the following settings are set to “Allowed”.
  •         Traverse Folder/Execute File
  •         List Folder/Read Data
  •         Read Attributes
  •         Read Extended Attributes
  •         Create Files/Write Data
  •         Create Folders/Append Data
  •         Write Attributes
  •         Write Extended Attributes
  •         Read Permissions

Follow the given steps if your permissions aren’t set correctly –

  1.       Right-click the folder that contains the company file and select Properties.
  2.       Click on Security and then select “Edit”.
  3.       Choose QBDataServiceUserXX and select Full Control.
  4.       Click on “Allow”.
  5.       Click on Apply and then OK.
