This is one of the most common banking errors in QuickBooks. It can cause your system to hang or to respond slower. The users generally encounter this issue while they try to update their bank information.

I’m encountering QuickBooks error 9999 while trying to update my bank information. How should I resolve this issue ?

Step 1- Clear the system cache.

  • Open your browser and clear all the temporary internet files and cache.
  • Restart your browser.
  • Close all open browser windows and reopen.

For Internet Explorer-

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the “Favorites” button on the top right corner of your screen.
  3. Now go to the “History” tab.
  4. To delete the browsing history, right-select the on the pages you’ve visited.
  5. Click on “Delete”.
  6. If you want to clear the entire history, click on the “Select All” checkbox and then select “Delete”.

For Chrome-

Open Chrome.

  1. Go to the top right corner of the screen and click on the “More” tab.
  2. Now click to tools and then click on “Clear browsing data”.
  3. Choose a time range from the options available including last hour or all time.
  4. Select the information you want to delete if you do not wish to clear the entire browsing history.
  5. Finally, click on “Clear browsing data”.

Step 2- Force stop the program.

  • Open your Task Manager.
  • Click on the Processes tab.
  • Select QuickBooks or Intuit.
  • Click End Task/End Process at the bottom.
  • Reopen QuickBooks afterwards.

Step 3- Start your computer in Selective Startup.

  • Press the Windows button and then type ‘Run’ to open the Run command.
  • Type msconfig in the following window and then select OK.
  • Select ‘Selective startup’ and then ‘Load system services’ in the window.
  • Go to the Services tab, and select ‘Hide all Microsoft Services’.
  • Select Disable all and then unmark the Hide all Microsoft Services check box.
  • Make sure the Windows Installer checkbox is selected.
  • Restart your computer next.
  • Reinstall QuickBooks using clean install after your computer restarts.

Step 4- Update QuickBooks.

  • Go to the Help menu.
  • Click on ‘Update QuickBooks’.
  • Click Options and then select the Mark All button.
  • Save and then click on ‘Update Now’.
  • Click reset then click the get updates button.
  • Close QuickBooks once the update is complete.
  • Right-click the QuickBooks icon, and then select “Run as Administrator”.

Step 5- Disconnect and reconnect the Feed

  • Make sure the “For Review” list is completely clear.
  • Click the Bank & Credit Card Checking option.
  • Now Click on the Edit Account Info” tab.
  • Click on the option “Disconnect this Account and Save”,
  • Final Click to the “Save and Close” button.
