QuickBooks provides various new updates to its users from time to time. These updates add new and advanced features to our existing software. But many times, while we are trying to download the updates, we face several types of errors as a result of which we are no longer able to download the updates. As a result, we are no longer able to use the newly added features So it is important that we find the cause of the error and fix it as soon as possible so that we are able to enjoy the updates.

There are a number of ways by which we can fix this problem. They are as follows:

METHOD 1: Check whether your machine has a proper internet connection. If the signal is weak, wait for the internet connection to become powerful. Only then should you start the update.

METHOD 2: The second method is to check the date and time settings of your computer. The steps to do so are as follows:

  • Right-click the clock in the bottom right corner of your Desktop screen.’
  • Click on Adjust Date/Time.
  • Click on Change date and time.
  • Select today’s date and time.
  • Click on OK
  • Close QuickBooks Desktop and reopen it.

After you have completed these steps, try to update QuickBooks once again.

METHOD 3: The third method is to verify the Internet Connections Settings. To do so, first, check whether there is any problem with the internet connection settings or not. Open your web browser and try to open a page. If you are able to open the page without any hindrance, then there shouldn’t be any problem with the internet connection settings. However, if you are not being able to open the page, then you will have to open QuickBooks and then carry out the following steps:

  • Go to Help
  • Click on Internet Connection Setup.
  • Select Use my computer’s Internet connection settings to establish a connection when this application accesses the Internet.
  • Click Next.
  • Go to Advanced Connection Settings.
  • Click on the Advanced
  • Then Click the Restore Advanced Settings
  • Click OK
  • Click Done.

After you have successfully carried out these steps, try to update your software. Hopefully, you will be able to download the updates.

METHOD 4: The fourth method is to check whether your device has the proper firewall settings. Many times, it may so happen that the firewall setting is preventing QuickBooks from downloading any updates. For that, you will have to go to the Firewall Settings and make the necessary changes.
